Terms of use

A few straightforward terms for making, keeping, and sharing your postcards with Hello From.

Using Hello From

Hello From is made by Joshua Tonga, part of Tiny Internet. These terms apply to the Hello From iPhone app and this website. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using them.

The iPhone app is also licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). That agreement governs the app license; these terms describe additional product and website conditions. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.

Your photos and postcards

You retain ownership of your photos, messages, and other content. You are responsible for having permission to use and share that content, including respecting other people’s privacy and intellectual-property rights. Hello From does not take ownership of the postcards you create.

Use the app and website lawfully. Do not use them to infringe others’ rights, distribute unlawful content, or interfere with their security or operation. The Hello From name, app design, software, and supplied artwork remain the property of their respective owners. Exporting your own finished postcards is an intended use of the app.

Free features and optional Pro

Hello From includes free features and an optional Pro upgrade. Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase, not a recurring subscription. The features included and the price in your local currency are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.

Apple handles payment through your Apple Account under its purchase terms. RevenueCat helps verify purchase access. To restore an existing purchase, use Restore Purchases in Hello From with the Apple Account used to buy Pro. Restoration is subject to a valid purchase and Apple’s availability and account rules.

Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. See Apple’s refund instructions. Eligibility depends on Apple’s policies and applicable law.

Keep copies of what matters

Your postcard collection is stored on your device. Hello From does not provide cloud sync or an app-managed backup service. Apple device backups may include app data according to your settings, but we cannot recover a collection stored only on your device. Export anything you want to keep before deleting the app, replacing your device, or clearing app data.

Deleting a postcard does not remove its original from Apple Photos or previously exported or shared copies. You are responsible for managing those copies and your backup settings.

Places, sharing, and printing

Place names and maps rely on Apple’s services and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable. Check the place, date, and message on a postcard before sharing or printing it. Maps in Hello From are for creative use and collecting memories, not navigation.

Sharing sends your export to the destination you choose, subject to that service’s terms. Pro print exports create files for you to print yourself or use with a printing service. Hello From does not print, mail, or deliver physical postcards. Print results depend on your printer, paper, settings, and any third-party service you use.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Hello From working well, but cannot promise uninterrupted service, error-free results, or compatibility with every future device or operating-system update. Some features require internet access or third-party services. Features may change as the app develops.

To the extent permitted by law, the app and website are provided as available, without additional warranties beyond those required by law or provided in the applicable app license. The Apple EULA contains the app’s warranty and liability provisions. These terms do not exclude liability or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Privacy and contact

Our privacy policy explains local storage, permissions, purchases, support messages, and website analytics. For help, visit Support or email hello@joshuatonga.com.

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top identifies the current version. We will communicate material changes as required by law; changes do not remove any rights you already have under applicable law.
